I am praying that you all have a blessed Thanksgiving. Please remember to take time in your celebration to focus on thanking God for all the many gifts He has blessed you with.
Then if you have time here are some fun Thanksgiving books that you might want to share with your child.

Your child should be bringing home two math sheets to finish and also they have memory work for tomorrow, Memory is, "The Lord is near to all who call on Him." Psalm 145:18
We had a really fun time today. We had some "guest teachers" as two fifth graders were rewarded with some "teacher time".
Later in science we saw the effects of air pressure on balloon rockets. Some of us even saw the effects of rubbing a balloon on your hair.

What a crazy and fun week we had. Book fair bingo, book fair, parent/teacher conferences, Veteran's Day Assembly, bring someone special to lunch day, The Queen of B.-ba, the Book Fair-oh and the crowning of the new Book Fair-oh, Mrs. Germain. All in all it was a lot of fun.
This weekend your child brought home his/her reading book. They should read, "A Musical Day" starting on pg. 70 3x. They also have two math sheets to finish for lesson 48, and memory for Monday, 11/18/13, is on pg. 4 and is, "Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might." Ephesians 6:10
Finally, as noted in the menu and in the reminder note sent home today, the Kindergarten and first grade sing this Sunday at the 8:00am service here at St. John. Don't forget to worship the Lord.

Here are a few pictures of the kids taking a math test and using math offices! Have a great weekend.
The Book Fair-oh has been making surprise appearances all week but today her chariot has arrived. Rumor has it that The Queen of B.-ba is in complete de-Nile about her reign coming to an end. Fortunately she has crossed the "already Red it Sea" and found some new books to read at the St. John book fair.

Tomorrow is our special Veteran's Day Assembly at St. John. The assembly begins at 1:30 in the school gym. Everyone is invited to attend. The students will be sitting together and singing a few songs during the assembly. If possible please have your child wear red, white and blue or any combination of the colors. Thanks, Mrs. B

Memory for Monday is on page 16 of the bible story book. The students have to read, " How Animals Communicate" 3x, and they have math to do for Monday. They are also bringing home their first quarter report card. I am so proud of all they have accomplished. Next week parent teacher conferences are scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday. Your child should have brought home a note with the scheduled time yesterday. Finally, have a great weekend and don't forget to worship our Lord and Savior.

I can't believe that the quarter has come to an end already. I feel like these kids have my heart. :) Tomorrow report cards will be coming home and tonight look for a conference time. I can't wait to have time to talk to you about your child!
An average day in first grade includes lots of learning, work, smiles and fun.

In first grade we have been really getting into puzzles if you have any puzzles between 100 and 250 pieces that you would be willing to donate we would put them to good use.
