Lutheran school week is almost here!  We are getting really excited!

Memory for Monday is on pg. 10 May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

Your child should be bringing home a math sheet as well as a small book to read 3X.

Have a great weekend and remember...

Just had to share this with you all.  Some fun and simple ways to help your child become an amazing reader.  Remember learning should be fun and enjoyable.

Here is another great one.  I think everyone can use these reminders.

In first grade we are busy looking at some of the miracles Jesus performed while He walked on earth.  We have been noticing how so many of His miracles involve the forgiveness of sins.  Hmmm...I guess that is why we spend so much time helping children learn the importance of forgiveness in their journey to be more like Christ.  I guess that is why I work so hard on forgiving in my journey to be more like Christ.

What a great kick off  to our week.  We started our day with our morning routine, gym and then musical practice in the gym.  The stage is now up and we will be starting to work on our dances.  Then we had math and learned about telling time to the half hour.  Please make sure you check over your children's work.  The kids got new reading books and new reading workbooks.  This week we will be learning a little about the moon.

We will be reading a story called, "Let's Go to the Moon."

The kids circled their memory which is due on Thursday.  I hope you all have a great week as we surely will here in first grade.  And remember...

Happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!  The first graders are loving all things with love today as we ask...
We have been having such wonderfully fun and busy days.  We are really growing and making amazing gains.  This is a time of year when I always see my firsties start to turn into seconds.  It is always a little bitter sweet as I do so love them and want them to remain "my kids" and yet at the same time, I am thrilled to see all they can do.

We have been busy practicing for our musical; GPS.  We have also been learning lots about arctic animals, what great learning.  Our reading is really starting to soar as well as our math skills.  We took a math test today.  We will have a story to read tomorrow called, The Big Race and don't forget that Thursday is memory work day.  Finally, the K-1 choir will be singing this Sunday at the 10:30 service.
