Blue Jay day was a Touchdown event!!!

What a fun surprise it was to have the pep band, cheerleaders and some of the football players walk through our school playing music, cheering, yelling and giving high fives!  We love our Merrill Blue Jays and wish for a successful homecoming game!  Go Blue Jays!!!

A special thanks to Hollis the Swatter Expert.  We had a fly pesting us for two weeks.

No, it wasn't FlyGuy.  Mrs. B tried and tried to swat that fly but to no avail. Evidently she is a better teacher than a swatter!
In desperation she handed the swatter over to Hollis, the man of the week, and...
With one swat our problem was taken care of!!!!
Hollis was cheered long and loud as he truly saved the fourth graders from the pesky fly of St. John.  Hollis, the man, the myth, the swatter!

Here are some fun pics from today!

Wow, What a fantastic first day in fourth grade!!!!!

Today we started off our first day with an uplifting chapel reminding us that as children of God we are forever loved, guided, protected and his.

Then we got to draw a picture of what a shirt would look like if we had shirts advertising our summer.  We also had our first upper grade milk break which is a great time to hang out with friends and eat a healthy snack we bring from home.  We read letters written by last years fourth graders, wrote a letter to Mrs. B, took a selfie, drew our selfie, had gym, choir lunch and recess...whew!!!  What a busy day!

Tomorrow we will have our first science class...we never know what Mr. B is going to have us do.  Thank you all for making this first day a great day!!!

Let the sunshine out!j  So glad the weather is finally warming up.  I know I have been bad about updating the blog this semester.  Please never hesitate to call me if you ever have a question.  We have had a crazy busy month, it has been Easter, carnival, Madison trip, science fair, guest teacher:published writer, Stephenie Hovland, electricity and walk-a-thon and so much fun.

I know that there are lots of upcoming things too.  May 20th we will be leading chapel.  May 21 we will head to Heritage Hills.  We will be starting our last novel study of the year next week.
