These kids are doing a super job of using the reading strategies that they have been learning.  This week we are working on Lips the Fish.  He reminds us to get our lips ready to make the first sound we see in a word.  This is especially helpful when the kids are reading and they say a word that makes sense in the story but does not start the same.  For example saying get instead of pick.  We also started to work on the Chunky Monkey.  Chunky Monkey reminds us to look for word parts we already know.  For example if you know what sound -at makes you can quickly read a whole bunch of words without sounding it out letter by letter.  Thanks for your continued help.
