I hope your first grader has told you that we get to lead chapel tomorrow. Hope to see lots of you there!

One of the things I love most about this time of year is how independent the kids are. Watching them read, inside their heads, fills my heart with joy. They are learning to love to read. That is the best gift a teacher ever gave me and I am truly blessed to have been able to share that gift with so many kiddos. That is my favorite part of my 19 years of teaching first graders.

Happy Easter weekend to all of you! I can not wait to declare He is Risen! I hope that you all are able to worship God and celebrate our risen Lord!
Your child is bringing home one of my favorite projects today. They are bringing home a set of Easter Eggs. Please take time to go through these with your child. They are really excited to be able to use them to share the passion of our Savior.

I meant to post this picture yesterday, but sadly ran out of time. It is Holy Week and for those of you who know me you know that this is my favorite week of the year. I love contemplating on the amazing gift my Lord has given me, not because I deserved it but because His love is that great! Wow! It gets me every time. I can never be thankful enough for God's grace, mercy, forgiveness and gift of salvation. The least I can do is spend my life telling others how amazing God is and how much I love Jesus, my redeemer!

Today I have some very exciting news to share with my St. John family. After much prayer, thinking, talking and even more prayer I have decided to become the fourth grade teacher starting this coming fall. I have loved my 19 years in first grade, 15 here at St. John, and I know that there will be things about my "firsties" that I will greatly miss. However, I am thrilled and excited for this next adventure in my life. I know that God will bless me, as He always has. I also believe that God will continue to bless His faithful children here at St. John. I ask for your prayers as I make this transition. Thanks for your prayers, love and support.
